Punjab, a State in India very famous for it’s famous Bhangra. While growing up in a Punjabi Family, her life was filled with lots of singing and dancing at every occasion. Her Father always inspired her to go get her dreams and instilled confidence in her by giving her responsibilities from very young age.

When she turned 17, all her high school friends from her boarding school went ahead to pursue their graduation. She knew that she didn’t want to attend a regular college from 9 to 5. She decided to multi-utilize her next coming years. She joined a Flying institute and trained to become a pilot. Simultaneously, she was doing her distance graduation from another good university. This way she could get her education plus her license as a pilot. She graduated from her Flying institute as a pilot at a very young age of 20. That was just the beginning of her real life struggles as a woman pilot who is less than half the age of her co-pilots. Aviation is a male dominated field. Her Challenge at every step to climb up the career ladder was to be recognized for her flying skills, knowledge and passion to fly a plane. Apparently, She learned the ground reality hard way and every time her looks mattered more than her skills. She is a young, beautiful girl and the airlines wanted a good looking pilot for the media and promotions for their airlines. Therefore, the airlines would give her opportunities based on her looks as per her colleagues perspective. She would get really disappointed and angry at such comments. But she never let these comments or thoughts get onto her mind. She tool this challenge head on and ready to face them. One Day, the CEO of the airlines wanted to exchange her duty with another male colleague because it was a bad weather day. She stepped up in the conversation and said ” I will go If I am scheduled and you cannot stop me from my duties just because I am a Girl”. Her CEO was appalled and left with no answer. She went ahead in that bad weather day and proved her point that She is as capable as anybody else in that airlines irrespective of her age/gender.

The news spread quickly and then on International Women’s Day, She operated an all women operated flight where she was the Head Pilot accompanied by another young woman Co-pilot and all women flight crew as well. The flight was a big success irrespective of the bad weather and heavy turbulences faced during the flight. When Flight was going through the turbulences, the passengers started panicking and complaining that how will the women pilot handle such bad weather. This is when our Superwoman Head Pilot took charge and made an announcement to not to panic and relax and enjoy their meals and trust her. The flight landed smoothly and many passengers came to her to thank her for safe flight and applauded the entire crew. This was covered across the state and national leading newspaper and channels as well. After her successful flying career for a couple years, she became India’s first and youngest women Captain for Caravan .
